This review of Elton John's cd release was contributed by one of my (B.) colleagues from
work:
I usually only like a few
titles on a new cd, but this time I can't decide which song I love best.
Though not being a real
fan of Elton John, I nevertheless always enjoyed his duets with other famous
artists and his love songs and ballads - and there are plenty of them on
the cd "AIDA". Most of the songs are unmistakably Elton John's, but on
the other hand they also have this dramatic quality that is unique for
musicals.
For the romantic and emotional people among us it's a must not to miss the heartbreaking songs "Written In The Stars" or "The Messenger" - when the lovers Radames and Aida die together sealed in a tomb. Those who don't burst into tears that easily, should not miss the great voice of Tina Turner lecturing on How Easy It Is To Forget Your Lover, "Easy As Life", or the Spice Girls revealing their "Strongest Suit" - how to dress nicely.
So my recommendation is: Go out there and buy a copy of "AIDA" - it's certainly worth its money.
