The concert - what a smasher, what a success. Don't think I've ever seen our 'Stadthalle' (the concert hall in Vienna) so packed. It was a total sell-out, with around 12.006 people, according to Andrea Corr herself.

The warm-up band Picturehouse certainly did their share of getting the audience into the right mood and making them move to the music. The singer, almost a standup comedian, made it his job to literally "Bring The House Down" (title of their live album) with his jokes and clumsy sentences of broken German thrown in. Their songs were a mixture of Michael Stipe's (R.E.M.) voice and Irish rhythm.

Roughly half an hour later, after a break, a fitting, powerful drums intro, rising to a crescendo, to announce the group everyone's been waiting for.
Left and right to the stage oval screens, something with a difference, showing the virtual arrival of The Corrs, gliding down what appeared to be thick fog one minute and turned into a corridor the next. Then all of the spotlights flicked on and, one by one, they walked in, a reception of thundering applause following, until Andrea Corr spoke to the fans.

The stage was kept pretty simple, yet at the same time almost elegant with its flawing long curtains, a kind of white raised rostrum (podium) in the middle, and an additional egg-shaped screen at the back.
Caroline and her drums were at the center of the podium, flanked by the two basists, Anto Drennan and Paul Duffy. The front line-up consisted of Andrea, also in the middle, Sharon to her left and Jim guarding her right.

It didn't take long for the 3 sisters and brother to warm up to the audience and reverse. They gave a great rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams", a perfect match to the original. The rest of the evening's repertoir included all of their hits, showing the family still proves "Irresistible" to their fans, even though they are "So Young". And at one point they encouraged the crowd to listen to the "Radio", so there would be "No More Cry". Other smashers were:

but to name a few. They never failed to amaze and surprise with their command of various instruments,

At the end of a tremendously entertaining show they were called to come out twice for encores, the charismatic instrumental "Paddy McCarthy" one of their chosen songs, obviously a favourite with the fans, although already performed earlier during the concert. By then there was hardly anyone sitting still any more, most people dancing and singing along to the catchy tunes.

It's certain - from our point of view - that The Corrs left everyone literally "Breathless" that night, not only because of their great compositions but also their musical talents, seeming to run in their family.
