After her last solo tour 4 years ago, Annie Lennox is back with Dave Stewart, once her lover and long time partner, to release a new cd called 'PEACE', promoted by a brief world tour with all proceeds going towards Amnesty International and Greenpeace.
Annie and Dave first met in 1976 in a café in Hampstead, her a music student feeding her studies with a job as a waitress there and him a hobby musician having a drink in the cafè. They got chatting and eventually formed a group called the Tourists, which had a few minor hits. Later they left the other band members behind and got together to become the successful duo Eurythmics. Well-known hit singles include 'There Must Be An Angel', 'Sweet Dreams', '1984', 'Sex Crime', 'Would I Lie To You', It's Alright', 'Missionary Man' and 'Thorn In My Side', but to name a few.
These days they've decided to join together again after having performed at a few charity gigs for Greenpeace and Amnesty International. Each person having explored other avenues as solo artists, Annie & Dave's new first single 'I Saved The World Today' (released from 'PEACE') shows Eurythmics have not only become more experienced in music. The song has a certain catchy tune, a mixture of their usual style and today's new rhythm, and also deals with the most important issues of the world.
All together the new album will prove to have great refreshing tunes, in other words, to be yet another success of theirs.
Dave Stewart and Annie
Lennox have also taken part in Netaid
and are currently on tour. Unfortunately their tour plans do not include
