Pepsi & Shirlie

Shirlie, one half of the famous pop duo Pepsi & Shirlie, was so kind to contribute personally to our homepage. Here is the details of what they have been up to since each of them took different paths in life:

Since Pepsi & Shirlie, Pepsi starting writing songs with other writers. She was also  offered a part in the musical "Hair" - a 1960's hippy type musical. Of course she was great! She then went on  to play Josephine Baker (theatre), her performance was exceptional.  I must admit I did not know that she could act that well. She has done several other plays since, that I do not know the name of.

Lately, she has been singing with Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells) and will be touring with him this summer. As you can see she has been quite a busy girl!

Well, what happened to me?
I had a baby that I found impossible to leave with anyone else. That in turn changed my whole life. I realized that my career had to take a back seat.

I lived in LA for a while  whilst my husband (note: Martin Kemp, former band member of Spandau Ballet and now actor in Eastenders, for anyone who doesn't know yet) pursued an acting career.

I then had my second child and gave up all hope of ever being able to work again. I was offered to do some TV presenting but did not feel ready to give up looking after my two children.

I then got into song writing again with another writer, wrote a few songs that one embarrassingly got into the Eurovision Song Contest. I have not told anyone that before!

I did more travelling with my husband and children. Then, one day, Andros rang to ask if I would like to help out with the web site. He did say it will only be for 4 weeks, but here I am  two years later!<<
