The SUN (British tabloid) has reported that Paul McCartney has picked up a Gong, the Best Band Ever Honour, at the BRATS Award (hosted by NME) on the 01/02/2000. He was originally asked to appear at the Brit Awards to be handed the Greatest Contribution To Music Gong, but told them he could not get there, so the Spice Girls will get the award.
Paul quipped that he prefers attending the BRATS to the BRITS, because the winners of the latter are only voted by a commitee, whereas the BRATS is a "public" award.

Sadly we do not have good news about Ofra Haza. She was taken ill to a hospital in Israel about two weeks ago, apparently suffering from untreated pneumonia, and thereafter unfortunately died from organ failure on February 23rd. Although she's mainly known for her #1 hit "Im Nin Alu", she was quite successful all through the 80s, receiving numerous awards in her career. Among many other songs and albums she also appeared in the remix "Paid In Full" with Eric B. & Rakim, Paula Abdul's single "My Love Is For Real" and on the soundtrack to "The Prince Of Egypt", only but to name a few.
